Ever been disappointed when the dress you ordered doesn’t fit like it did in the picture? Yep, most of us have been there, and when it happens, it can leave us feeling as if there’s something wrong with our shape. If it fitted the model so well, why does it just hang on us? Or cling? Or gather in the wrong place?
Well, Asos caused a stir recently when they accidentally released a photo on their website which clearly showed why some pictures can be misleading. A keen-eyed shopper saw that two bulldog clips, which were being used to hold the dress in place, were still visible in the photo. Once the clips were pointed out on social media the clips were quickly edited out of the photo, but that didn’t stop many from taking to the Twittersphere to vent their frustration.
@xZahida suggested that they “stop adding clips because it’s misleading when the product arrives and is completely different in real life”.
@Lozzerhoneypot said, “Hey @ASOS_HeretoHelp why not clearly show how the dress fits, instead of changing it to fit in a different way than it clearly wouldn’t do without the clip”.
The comment that sums the problem up brilliantly was from @xronnieanna: “And there’s you doubting your body shape when the dress doesn’t hang right like the pictures”.
Sometimes, the camera does lie…
