Garden gnomes are such a fun and colourful way to add some character to outdoor spaces! We’ve got a fun tutorial on how you can make and decorate your own! Why not make a little gnome family for your garden, or make a whole batch to give to friends and family?

First we need to make the dough! Combine the following ingredients in a mixing bowl using a wooden spoon until you get a firm dough:
• 1 cupful of plain flour (about 250g)
• Half a cupful of table salt (about
125g)
• Half a cupful of water (about 125ml)

Preheat your oven at its lowest setting and start shaping your gnomes! When you and your little one are happy with the shapes, transfer them to a baking tray and leave them in the oven for 3 hours.

Time to paint! Once your gnomes are firmed up and dry you can start painting them however you like. Make sure to let them cool fully before letting little ones handle them.

Finish off your gnomes with a finer brush or a paint pen to give them a complete look!

Place your garden gnomes wherever you want them to live! Take a walk outside and find new homes for your gnome family.
